My head, all this week.

When soul-crushing, lung-squeezing depression gets you down, get yourself down to sketch comedy tv! It will always see you through.

Clothing designed for women bodies? How silly!
This reminds me of Project Runway-style shows where contestants will have a challenge to make clothes for real people and they whine about how hard it is to make clothes for those pesky breast/butts/arms.

A helpful guide for Banana Republic as they attempt to profit off of Mad Men: The one on the left is a Woman. The one on the right is a Girl. High empire waists and cap sleeved lace dresses are designed for 12-year-olds to look like 12-year-olds.

“As soon as winter came, in squares and public places all over the land, ice hills were erected, usually near a river. They were constructed of wood — a narrow long-legged temporary stage that rose to a height of 30 or 40 feet and sometimes even higher. The platform, to which one ascended by wooden stairs, was supported by tree trunks and wooden pillars. Two such platforms were constructed to face each other and were set parallel so that the force of sledding down one would carry a rider all the way down to the steps of the other… Like the side of an abrupt cliff, the slope was at first very steep. It then flattened out at the bottom, with sand at the very end… to slow down the flying sleds. The whole surface of the course was covered with large blocks of ice, frozen shining and smooth in a few seconds from torrents of water thrown over them.”

Discovered via a list of dangerous theme park rides. It could probably be the heat-madness talking, but we need to construct one of these, like, yesterday. The combination of ice and peril sounds like a most refreshing experience!

Some items from the past few weeks. Sadly, adhering to a sensible budget meant not coming home from the market with several hundred lilies, which would have made for better pictures.

the-staxx:

I’d like to write a story of what I imagine is written here about these hands.
